About Me

Hi, I’m Leesa.

And I believe the right words can turn an important moment into something unforgettable.

Scripted Moments began with a simple idea: not everyone feels comfortable finding the words for life’s biggest milestones—but everyone deserves to sound like themselves when it matters most.

So I help with that.

What I do (and why I love it)

I write wedding ceremonies, vows, and speeches that sound natural, personal, and true to the people they’re about. Whether it’s a joyful wedding day, a heartfelt toast, or a moment of remembrance, I step in to help shape words that feel honest and meaningful.

Some people come to me with pages of thoughts. Others just know how they feel, but not how to say it. Both are perfect starting points.

Either way, we figure it out together.

Weddings are my favorite

There’s something really special about standing at the edge of a big moment—watching two people promise forever while everyone they love is gathered around them. I’ve been officiating weddings since 2013 for family, friends, and friends of friends.

I love helping couples slow that moment down. Not with something overly scripted or stiff—but with words that feel like them. Real, personal, and just the right amount of imperfect in the best way.

Because your ceremony shouldn’t sound like everyone else’s. It should sound like your story.

The words that matter don’t always come easily

Vows and speeches can feel surprisingly intimidating. You want to say something meaningful… but not cheesy. Honest… but not awkward. Personal… but not rambling.

That’s where I come in.

I take what you’re feeling and help shape it into something you can actually say out loud with confidence. Something that feels like you—just clearer, calmer, and a little more polished.

A little about me

I’m someone who notices words.

The way they land. The way they linger. The way they can completely change how a moment feels.

I’ve always been drawn to storytelling—not the dramatic kind, but the everyday kind that shows up in conversations, vows, letters, and quiet “I love yous” when no one’s really listening.

This work lets me take those small, meaningful pieces and turn them into something lasting. And I never take that lightly.

I’ve spent more than 25 years as a professional writer, helping translate complex ideas into clear, meaningful language.

And while writing is where I’m most at home, I’m just as comfortable stepping in front of a room full of strangers and speaking with confidence.

That combination—thoughtful writing and calm, steady presence—is what I bring to every ceremony, vow, and speech I create.

Why Scripted Moments exists

Because the best moments in life deserve more than a template.

They deserve care. Attention. And words that feel like they belong there.

So whether you’re planning a wedding, preparing a speech, or trying to find the right way to say something important—I’m here to help you put it into words that feel like you.

Let’s create something meaningful together

If you’re here, you probably have a moment coming up that matters.

I’d love to help you shape it into something you’ll remember—not just for how it sounded, but for how it felt.

A few Fun Things About Me

Because if I’m going to help you tell your story, it’s only fair you know a little of mine too.

  • Coffee is my creative fuel. Most of my best writing starts with a fresh cup (or two).
  • I fully support dessert at any time of day. Celebrations—and Tuesdays—both qualify.
  • I pay attention to how things are said. Tone, timing, word choice… it all matters more than people think.
  • I have a soft spot for storytelling. From real-life moments to a good dramatic arc, I love how stories connect people.
  • I believe the smallest words can carry the most meaning. Sometimes it’s not about saying more—it’s about saying it right.
  • I love a good destination moment. Especially when it involves meaningful ceremonies in beautiful places.
  • I’m equal parts organized and sentimental. Which turns out to be a pretty perfect combination for this kind of work.

I’ve been a professional writer for over 25 years. Words matter to me. I’ve also spoken in front of a large audience of complete strangers.

One more thing

I don’t take it lightly when someone trusts me with their words.

Whether it’s a wedding ceremony, a set of vows, or a once-in-a-lifetime speech—these are moments people remember forever. Getting to be part of that is something I genuinely care about.

I take on a limited number of clients at a time, which allows me to give each story my full attention and care. Nothing here is rushed or templated—every word is written with intention.
